DEVICE TESTS
Microphone test
Check your microphone signal and settings, then record and play a short local sample. Nothing is uploaded.
Start to allow microphone access. The signal meter runs locally without live playback. Recording is optional and starts only when you choose.
Start once to reveal available inputs. No device is accessed until you start.
Ready when you are.
Wrong input or no signal?
- Check the physical mute switch. After starting, compare the Testing label with the microphone you intended to use; speak near that input.
- Choose another input above, or reconnect it and use Refresh devices. Changing inputs deletes temporary captures and restarts the test.
- If the input is still missing, stop this test and check the input in your system settings. If it works here but not in a call, choose the same input and check permissions in the call app separately.
A signal or picture only shows what this browser receives now. It does not prove that every hardware feature or calling app works.
Help with blocked permission or a busy device
Review this site’s microphone or camera permission in your browser, and access for the browser in your operating system. Only allow access if you want to run the test. Close other tabs or apps using the input before retrying. Do not disable security protections to force access.
Official instructions: Chrome camera and microphone access.

Microphone level
Not listening
Browser-reported settings are not an independent hardware quality score. The microphone meter is relative signal strength, not calibrated loudness.
